Let’s take a few steps back in the direction of time and just as you do it, you’ll see an old man lost in his thoughts. The world is at peace and so is that man, at least that’s what appears from his outlooks. But the room inside his head is at a world war. There are thousands of thoughts fighting with one another to make it to the pieces of paper he’s writing on. The story is already a master piece but he still isn’t satisfied completely and who knew that this zest of his will give the world a detective who has the vision of Einstein and is as dedicated to his work as the person who created him. I think you can now guess who I’m talking about! Yes, it’s the great author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his popular character Sherlock Holmes and today we’re going to celebrate one of his old works in a new way.

Sherlock: Interactive Adventure is one of the latest iOS apps that has been released in the iTunes store and has been developed by HAAB. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.1 or any later version of the OS. The app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

This app features “The Red-Headed League”, a chapter from the original book that you must have read or at least heard about. You must have been thinking by now between this one and the original book. Then let me tell you that this app has kept the originality of the novel but given it a new taste as well. Let me tell you how.

It’s a novel-animated movie combo. The chapter has been divided into 30 pages with each page featuring original text from the novel. But what’s more is that there is an animation over the top of each page. It appears an image at first but you can take a 360 degree look of the scene by swiping your finger over it. There are scenes from theatres, crime scenes, different parts of city and what’s more interesting is that they have been portrayed in the same style as a 19th century London would have looked. You’re Dr. Watson in this play and therefore you should know about the prime suspects as well as the clues. So you can search clues, mark suspects and read about them in detail.

Moreover, there is an audio version of this novel as well. Just tilt your device and the animation will maximise to full screen. Then you can listen to the narration along with a perfect view of the actual happenings. I must appreciate the work of the developers who have not left a single trace of error and even Sherlock himself would have been unable to find it.

Overall, I think this is one of the best apps to look forward to in the App Store. It’s available for just $2.99. So what are you waiting for!

Pros: perfect animations; managed to pull the originality of the characters and the plot very well.

Cons: none.
