There are many image editors available in the market but a video editor with cool effects and the ability to add music to it in the background is something I’ve never heard of. So if you haven’t heard of it either, then just sit with me and read on the complete review of this amazing app called AvFX.
AvFX is an iOS app that has been developed by Chee Ket Yung who has more apps to his credit such as InstaLiveFX. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or any later version of the OS. The app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.
Working on AvFX was a treat because the whole concept was new to me. This is a complete editor of videos and you can perform any task related to the editing of videos. For example, the main purpose of the app is to provide effects and music backgrounds to a video. But other than this, you can trim a video, change its size and shoot in two different aspect ratios: square and 3:4. You can also change the exposure, saturation, sharpness, etc while the video is running which was great to see on a mobile phone app.

Now, suppose you want to create a new video using AvFX. Then you can either select either anyone of your previous shot videos from your video library or you can shoot a new one. You can choose at the start whether you want to keep the microphone off/on and whether you want to record playback music from microphone or not. So if you want to shoot a video like Harlem Shake where you want to shoot a sequence and then combine it with some music, then better keep the microphone off. Then you can provide different effects to the video which help you to get a better shade of what you want.
There are total of 108 effects/filters with 9 packs of 12 effects/filters each. Each pack is unique such as Color, Mono, Lomo, Neon, etc and has its own characteristics. The UI of the app is something very intuitive and soothing to your fingers. All controls are on the screen and still there is enough space for the video as well. So they’ve managed well to use the complete space available.
Did I tell you about the sharing options? Well, what will you do with these videos if not shared with your friends! That’s why the app takes full care of all the social users out there and you can share your videos with one click to Facebook, YouTuve as well as Instagram. Moreover, if you want someone to help with video editing, then you can accept his/her video and edit it in your phone as well.
Overall, AvFX is a very good app with many new features and at a price of nothing, it’s always good. However, all effects are not free and you can buy them via in-app purchase.
