Dealing with presentations on your iPhone or iPad can be a cumbersome process. So while these mobile devices are meant to come handy at such occasions, they don’t. But that’s because of the lack of a proper tool that can serve as the interface between you and your iPhone or your iPhone and the big screen because presentations are normally given in front of a group of people. If you can create an amazing presentation as fast and efficiently as you create notes on your handbook, what better can you ask for! So that’s why we’re going back to the Handbook and let’s see what we can make out of it!
But wait, I’m not talking about your paper handbook that you have in your school bag. I’m talking about the latest iOS app called Handbook that has been developed by Infoteria Corporation. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 6.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone plus.
Handbook is actually a web application that allows you to create, view and deliver presentations online. The app is the iPhone version of the same application. The workstation of the app called Handbook Studio contains all the tools that make it easy and quick for you to create a presentation. Suppose if you want to create a quiz for the primary school students. You can start by giving it an appropriate title and then start adding the questions. The questions need not necessarily be literal only and can contain images and videos as well. You can upload these files from your device or from a cloud service, wherever you have stored them. So it means that you can work from any device as long as your data is stored on a cloud service. The files supported are MS Office, iWork, images, PDF, video and audio files.
There are many templates available for the slides you create and therefore you can add a bit of variety to each of your slides. The pre-fixed templates for question/answers also make sure that you don’t have to do much editing work later on. As soon as your files are uploaded, you’re good to go. Moreover, you can add a team of co-editors to your account if you’re all working on the same project. You can control the access to your files by others by authorizing them in the way you want.
After finishing your handbooks, you can display them on big screen using Apple TV which is another handy and useful feature. With the application on-board, you can even view the handbook offline. So any network issues during the presentation don’t add to your worry.
The best thing about Handbook is the simplified user interface. It’s smartly designed and neat and clean like fresh air. You have access to every nook and corner of the app and still there’s so much space that you just can’t explain it.
The app is available for free in the App Store. There’s a free trial available for the first 30 days. So make sure you get your hands on it today!
Pros: intuitive UI; upload files from device or cloud; create handbooks quickly; offline viewing; display via Apple TV; collaborative features; MS Office, iWork, PDF, images, video and audio files compatible.
Cons: none.
